The GMS Queen City Marathon brings thousands of runners, walkers, wheelchair athletes, volunteers, families, and supporters together for one of Saskatchewan’s most inspiring community weekends.

A race for every pace
Whether you are chasing a personal best, joining your first 5K, supporting your kids in the Mini Marathon, or taking on the full marathon, there is a place for you at QCM.
Race weekend includes the Night Owl 5K, Mini Marathon, Family 5K, 10K, Team Relay, Half Marathon, and Boston-qualifier Full Marathon.

Shared Origins to Shared Finish Lines
In the 1930s, Saskatchewan neighbours pooled a few dollars a month so a broken arm no longer meant “sell the farm.” That spirit became GMS in 1949. More than 75 years later, we’re still a Regina-based, not-for-profit insurer helping Canadians manage health, dental and travel costs and still driven by the idea that no one should face life’s hurdles alone.
From Policy to Pavement
Since becoming title sponsor in 2017, we’ve turned race weekend into an all-hands-on-deck tradition:
- One-third of GMS employees volunteer each year all weekend long!
- The GMS team does the race countdown on Sunday, hands out medals, award placement for the winning participants, works at refreshment stations, and much more - including even participating in races!
