Personal Health Coverage

Manage the costs of everyday and emergency medical needs, no matter what stage of life you’re in. These plans are medically underwritten and offer flexibility to choose some of your benefits. So you’ll get a plan that’s built and priced just for you.

Your superior health insurance plan with extensive benefits including:

  • Acupuncture, massage, chiropractor, physiotherapist and naturopath appointments and more
  • Counselling services
  • Glasses, contacts and laser eye surgery
  • Health supplies and equipment

OmniPlan

Extended Health Care

  • Vision Care: 1 eye exam / person / 2 years, 90% up to $250 / person / 2 years for eye wear (including laser eye surgery)
  • Health Practitioners: Acupuncturist, Chiropodist/Podiatrist, Naturopath, Dietitian, Osteopath, Massage Therapist, Physiotherapist/Athletic Therapist and Chiropractor ‒ 90% up to $300 per specialty / person / year
  • Counselling Services: Psychologist/Psychotherapist/Registered Social Worker/Clinical Counsellor (combined) ‒ $65 / visit x 15 visits / person / year
  • Speech Pathologist/Therapist (combined): $45 / visit x 10 visits / person / year
  • Ambulance (ground or air): unlimited (50% of the cost of road ambulance transport returning you to your place of permanent residence if you’re bedridden upon discharge from hospital)
  • Hearing Aids: $800 every 5 years
  • Health Supplies & Equipment: (e.g. aero chambers, splints, air casts, cervical collars, wigs, embolic stockings, compression sleeves) ‒ $500 / person / year
  • Diabetic Supplies & Equipment: (e.g. insulin pumps and testing devices) ‒ $300 / person / year
  • Oxygen Equipment: (purchase or rental of oxygen or CPAP equipment) ‒ $500 / person / year, to lifetime maximum of $2,500 / person
  • Blood Pressure Monitors: 1 / policy / 5 years
  • Custom Made Foot Orthotics: 80% of 1 pair / person / 3 years for adults and 1 pair / person / year for children under the age of 16
  • Orthopedic Shoes: $225 / person / year
  • Mobility Aids: (e.g. canes and bathtub/transfer benches) ‒ $300 / person / year
  • Ostomy Supplies: (e.g. pouches, skin barriers, deodorant, adhesive, connector kit, gauze) ‒ $300 / person / year
  • Casts & Crutches: (fiberglass casts and rental or purchase of crutches) ‒ unlimited
  • Private Duty Nursing: (in-hospital and in-home care) ‒ 80% to $5,000 / person / year
  • Wheelchairs, Motorized Scooters & Hospital Beds: $1,000 / person / 5 years

Additional Coverage Options

Basic Prescription Drugs

$3,500 / person / year for drugs (including hormonal contraceptives) listed on your provincial formulary†. Covers conditions that are newly-diagnosed after your plan is in effect. Drugs used to treat pre-existing conditions are not covered. 
† Formularies vary by province and territory.  

Enhanced Prescription Drugs

$5,000 / person / year for drugs (including hormonal contraceptives) listed on your provincial formulary†. Covers conditions that are newly-diagnosed after your plan is in effect. Includes up to $800 to cover drugs associated with pre-existing conditions and drugs that are not on your provincial formulary. 
† Formularies vary by province and territory.  

Dental Care

Covers basic services like exams, cleanings, extractions and fillings, and major services like crowns, bridges, and dentures.

  • Year 1 – $500 / person / year (75% for basic services only)
  • Year 2 – $750 / person / year (80% for basic, 50% for major)
  • Year 3 – $1,000 / person / year (80% for basic, 50% for major)

A 3-month waiting period applies unless you’re switching from a plan with similar dental coverage.

Hospital Cash

$100 / day up to $3,000 / year for out-of-pocket expenses during an extended hospital stay including food, parking, WIFI, daycare, taxis and TV.

Annual Travel

Travel Emergency Medical coverage that insures you for multiple trips within Canada and outside our borders during the year.  
In Saskatchewan Annual Travel coverage is included in our ExtendaPlan and OmniPlan. 
For all other provinces, Annual Travel is an option that can be added to a BasicPlan, ExtendaPlan or OmniPlan. The travel option includes $2 million in coverage and your choice between an unlimited number of trips up to 15, 30 or 48 days per year. 
Applicants 80 years of age or older are only eligible for travel coverage in Canada. 

Replacement Health Coverage

These plans are available when you’re leaving your employer’s benefits plan and help you maintain your lifestyle while you focus on your next adventure. We offer guaranteed acceptance with no medical questions, as long as your plan begins within 90 days of the end date of your group plan.

The best plan to cover your current and future health care needs. Benefits include:

  • Prescription drugs, including ones you’re already taking
  • Dental
  • Glasses, contacts and laser eye surgery
  • Emergency medical travel coverage

  • Prescription Drugs: up to 80% to $2,500 / person / year
  • Dental Care: 80% preventative and basic, 50% major, $1,500 combined maximum
  • Health Practitioners: Acupuncturist, Chiropractor, Chiropodist / Podiatrist, Massage Therapist, Naturopath, Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist ‒ 100% to $600 / person / year
  • Counselling Services: Psychologist/Psychotherapist/Registered Social Worker/Clinical Counsellor (combined) ‒ $65 / visit x 10 visits / person / year
  • Accidental Dental: $2,000 / injury
  • Private Duty Nursing (in-hospital and in-home care) ‒ 80% to $5,000 / person / year
