Hospitals of Regina MRI Endowment Fund | 1998-2002
In September, 1998, Group Medical Services announced a donation of $250,000 to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation MRI Endowment Fund. The $250,000 endowment fund represented a significant investment in the health of Southern Saskatchewan, ensuring that residents have access to cutting edge diagnostic technology.
The funds donated will be invested and the interest earned on that investment will be used to upgrade MRI technology each year. Primarily, this will enable the purchase of new software to expand the capabilities of MRI equipment.
This investment means that residents of Southern Saskatchewan will have no longer need to travel to access current technology in, among many others, stroke detection, the assessment of cardiovascular conditions and the detection of some cancers.
