Travel insurance protects you from unexpected costs for things like medical care in a foreign country or for rebooking a flight home because the airline cancelled your return flight. TravelStar Emergency Medical Insurance covers you in case you need emergency medical care during your trip. Trip Cancellation Coverage insures you for costs or new expenses you might have if your trip is cancelled or interrupted.

Our TravelStar Emergency Medical covers essential benefits like ambulance, emergency dental, hospital care and more while travelling. TravelStar Trip Cancellation Coverage helps you feel protected even before you start your trip. In the event your trip is cancelled due to an insured risk before your departure, you'll be covered for items such as non-refundable airfare, pre-paid travel arrangements and any cancellation penalties. In the event your trip is interrupted after leaving, you'll be covered for items like transportation to rejoin tour groups or the cost of out-of-pocket expenses during longer delays such as meals, accommodations, telephone calls and taxi fares.

Nobody expects to have an emergency when travelling but emergencies happen. The costs of medical care in another country can often be thousands of dollars. So can the cost to rebook a last-minute flight home. Having an emergency on your trip should not cause you financial hardship for years to come. TravelStar Emergency Medical Insurance covers you in case you need emergency medical care during your trip and Trip Cancellation Coverage can help cover costs if your trip is cancelled or interrupted.

It’s a good idea. Provincial health plans only cover basic costs like trips to the hospital or a doctor. Travel coverage such as our TravelStar Emergency Medical insurance covers things like ambulance services and prescription drugs if you need them while you’re away. You can also buy Trip Cancellation insurance to help cover costs if your trip is cancelled or interrupted.

Travel insurance covers the costs of unexpected events while travelling. You purchase coverage before leaving home and if you run into an emergency while travelling, you’ll be reimbursed for covered expenses. What do you do if you run into an emergency while travelling? First, call Travel Assistance for help. They’ll make sure you know what’s covered so when you pay for it, you know you’ll be reimbursed shortly after you submit your claim. Please see our TravelStar Emergency Medical and Trip Cancellation pages for specifics on what’s covered.
